How much does access control installation cost?
Costs depend on the number of doors and the type of reader. As a guide, a card or tag reader with lock starts from R1,495 per door and complete doors from R4,995 per door, and fingerprint readers from R5,995 per entry point. Larger sites drop to from R3,495 per door. Our R650 call-out covers the technician visit, a full site inspection and an itemised written quote.
Does access control work during load-shedding?
Yes. Controllers, locks and gate motors are installed with battery backup sized for typical outages, and fail-safe or fail-secure locks are chosen per door for safety.
Can access control replace our time-and-attendance system?
Yes. Biometric readers can record clock-in and clock-out times and export reports for payroll.
Can visitors get access without a card?
Yes. Visitors can receive a once-off code or QR pass by WhatsApp or SMS, or be logged at the guardhouse with intercom approval from the resident.
How long does installation take?
Most standard installations take 1–2 days; larger commercial or estate systems take 3–5 days, scheduled to keep disruption low.
