CCTV Maintenance & Repairs – Keep Every Camera Recording

Quick answer

Why do CCTV cameras stop working?

The most common causes are failed power supplies, water in connectors, damaged cables, a full or failing hard drive, firmware problems and changed Wi-Fi or router settings that break phone access.

Our technicians test each part of the system, repair or replace only what has failed and give you a short health report – whether we installed the system or not.

inspection + quote

Whether it is CCTV, access control, alarms, electric fencing, printers, computers or fibre, you pay one fixed call-out of R650. It covers the visit, a full site inspection and an itemised written quote – so the price you approve is built around your property, not a guess. How it works

From first call to finished job

One accountable team from the first call to after-sales support.

  1. Site visit & assessment

Call, WhatsApp or send the form. A technician visits (R650 call-out, including the site inspection and your written quote) or reviews photos and a video call to map entry points, blind spots, cabling routes and power.

  2. Written quote

You receive an itemised quote – equipment, labour, backup power and timeline – before anything is ordered. No surprises.

  3. Professional installation

Our own technicians install neatly: concealed cabling, weatherproof joints, labelled equipment and correct camera angles.

  4. Setup & handover

We configure recording, alerts and the phone app on your devices, test every zone and show you how everything works.

  5. Ongoing support

Warranty support, maintenance plans and fast call-outs from our Alberton base keep the system working for years.

FAQs

CCTV Maintenance & Repairs – questions answered

Straight answers from our technicians. Every site is different – your written quote confirms the details.

Do you repair CCTV systems installed by another company?

Yes. We service most DVR and NVR brands. We test the system, explain what has failed and quote before repairing.

Why does my camera picture go black or blurry at night?

Usually a failed infrared LED, a dirty or fogged lens, spider webs reflecting IR, or a power supply that cannot drive the IR. We clean, test and replace the faulty part.

My CCTV app stopped working – can you fix it remotely?

Often yes. App problems after a router change or password reset can usually be fixed in a short remote or on-site session.

How often should CCTV be maintained?

Homes benefit from a check once a year; businesses and complexes every three to six months, especially before the rainy season.

How long does a CCTV hard drive last?

Surveillance drives typically last three to five years of continuous recording. We check drive health on every service visit and replace drives before they fail.
